IMPOTERTED FANCY STATIONERY IN INDIA

Imports from China in India increased to 744.54 INR Billion in January from 743.97 INR Billion in December of 2023. Imports from China in India averaged 181.99 INR Billion from 1991 until 2024, reaching an all time high of 814.38 INR Billion in July of 2022 and a record low of 0.01 INR Billion in April of 1991. source: Reserve Bank Of India

While analysing the major commodity groups (based on Chart 2 and Table 3) which are being imported from China directly or indirectly in Apr-Feb 2021-22, followings are found: ·

 

 Top 10 major commodities contributed almost 85% of total import (value) from China, directly or indirectly. ·

 

 Out of those top 10 commodities “Electronic Goods” contributes most with share of 42.8% in total import value from China (directly or indirectly) and its most contributing Principal commodities are--Electronic Component (15.3%), Computer Hardware, Peripherals (10.4%), Telecom Instruments (8.6%), Electronics Instruments (3.6%), Consumer Electronics (3.2%), Accumulators and Batteries (1.8%). ·

 

Second most contributing major commodity group is “Machinery, Electrical and NonElectrical” which contributed 12.9% in total import value from China (directly or indirectly) while its most contributing Principal commodities are -- Indl. Machnry for Dairy etc (4.8%), Electric Machinery and Equipment (3%,), AC, Refrigeration Machnry etc (1.5%), Other misc. Engineering items (1.4). ·

 

“Organic and Inorganic Chemicals” holds third position with share 7.7% in total import value from China (directly or indirectly) with its most contributing Principal commodities ---Organic Chemicals (5.3%), Agro Chemicals (0.8%), Inorganic Chemicals (0.7%).
